Editor’s note: Putting the fun back into summer

I often think about summer vacations when I was a kid. Running through the sprinkler and swimming at the local pool. Riding bikes around the neighborhood until the streetlights turned on. It was fun. I didn’t think about it being exercise. And that’s the way it should be all the time.

With summer in full swing, it’s time to recapture some of that childhood magic. Get outside, chase a Frisbee and maybe blow a few bubbles. For a little while, don’t worry about tracking your heart rate or counting your steps – just have some fun!

In this issue, we’ve got a few ideas to help you enjoy the summer season and stick with your healthy routines. Learn about surf-inspired exercises for a fun, total-body workout. Find out if summer camp for adults is a trend you’d like to try. And get tips on eating healthy while you travel. Plus, put the zucchini in your summer garden to work with our tasty zoodle recipe.

We wish you (and the kid in you) a healthy summer filled with fun, adventure and great memories to last a lifetime.

In good health,
