Taking time to yourself is a great way to de-stress and refresh. But if you take enough time to let boredom set in, then nicotine cravings could soon follow if you have a history of using tobacco. The good news: You can lower the chance of this happening by simply planning ahead.
Make a list of activities you can try when you have some free time, like doing something outside, listening to a favorite song, performing a random act of kindness or enjoying something else that doesn’t make you think of tobacco. Talking with others in person, on the phone or texting them can be a great distraction, too. And it can help to always carry something with you – like a crossword puzzle, magazine or book. If you find yourself stuck somewhere, then it can keep your mind and hands busy.
