The season’s best

Head out to your local farmers market and take advantage of summer’s freshest produce. Here’s a quick month-by-month guide to what’s in season. You’ll usually find great deals on these items at the market and in the grocery store, too. Buying in-season produce helps you save money and enjoy fruits and veggies when they are at their best!


July: Tomatoes, sweet corn, blueberries, blackberries, cucumbers, green beans, cherries, strawberries and summer squash.

August: Watermelon, cantaloupe, carrots, beets, stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums) and zucchini.

September: Apples, spaghetti squash, eggplants, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, Brussels sprouts, peas, onions and parsnips.
